If you are like me, then you have a drawer
in your bathroom where all your jewelry lives.
If your son is like mine, then this drawer is his favorite place to play.
I hardly ever wear my jewelry because it is a tangled mess
thanks to a certain 2 year old boy who shall remain nameless.
I will say that his name rhymes with Smunchie.
Since most workday mornings involve
me trying to sneak in an extra 5 minutes of sleep,
packing up food, milk, clothes, and diapers for 2 boys,
a quick make up application,
and if I am lucky: a shower..
performing skilled detangling operations
on said jewelry drawer is not an option.
I finally broke down and made this organizer to keep
necklaces and bracelets tangle free and I wanted to share
how you can make one of your very own!
Supplies: Frame, Peg Board cut to fit frame, Sponge Brushes, Paint, Stencil, Ribbon, Glue {not pictured}, Peg Board Hangers {I got mine at Home Depot, they also cut my peg board for me}
Paint your peg board: I painted the unfinished side because the paint didn't really stick to the white side.
Let dry till paint is no longer tacky.
Stencil with paint color of your choice.
I used metallic gold to match the gold frame I purchased.
It will look something like this when you are done.
I painted the peg board hangers gold so they didn't clash.
I used a dabbing motion because just sweeping it across
didn't stick of course.
Tear or cut the back closure area off your frame.
Put glue around inside edges {I used E6000}
Place peg board into frame pressing down firmly.
Take some more glue and fill in the gap between the frame and peg board...don't worry if it looks messy like mine.
You won't ever see the back.
I made a rosette with ribbon and added pearls
to one of the corners to spice it up a bit.
I used that same ribbon and glued it to the back to make
a bow to hang it on the wall from.
You can place the peg board hangers where ever you like.
The nice thing is that they are super easy to move around
depending on what you are organizing.
I glued some pearls to a thumb tac and used that to hang the organizer on my bathroom wall.
Here is what it looks like all loaded up!
I even put my headbands on it to keep them clean.
You might have to be a little strategic in where you
place heavier items so it doesn't tip to one side.
Did you spot my awesome Chrysanthemum necklace from Little Miss Momma? LOVE!
