What Mama Made Monday: My Homemade Fall Decor

For those of you who don't know, I am an office manager at a dentist office.  Although my dream job is to be a stay at home mom, this job may be the next best thing.  It's a really small practice, our patients are like family, and my boss is the bomb!

When she asked me why the Halloween decorations weren't up, I thought, "with all these cute ideas I see on Pintrest how in the world do you expect me to put up those old tired paper decorations from the last 3 years?!"

So, I suggested that she let me make some new and much improved Fall decor.  She went for it so, $62 and 12 hours later this is what I came up with.  Hope you enjoy!

Halloween Printables and Flower Specimen Art

If you are looking for a bunting tutorial, here you go!

I Mod Podged this fake pumpkin and tied it with some red raffia.  Then I painted the little one gold and tied some left over fabric from the other items I made.  Here is how I made the Mod Podge pumpkin.

I hade some left over burlap from the pillows I made so I just tied it around the pot with the red raffia

 Another look at the bunting!

Burlap stenciled pillows with rosette and pom pom detail.

I used the same material as the bunting to tie them together.

No, I didn't hang this wreath on a chair!  The picture of it on the door turned out too dark.  I wrapped it with burlap then created a matching mini bunting and did the rosettes and pom poms again.

I think I would add buttons and pearls to anything if I could.  I love them!

I put scrap burlap and some ribbon around a small vase with candy corns and fake flowers.

Another burlap stenciled pillow, this one has ruffles!

I painted these wood blocks, Mod Podged some scrapbook paper on them and then stenciled FALL on them.  I did 2 more coats of Mod Podge and sanded the edges for a "worn in" look.

Final little touch: burlap bow on the plant above my desk.

I love the way it all turned out.  I especially like that it says Fall without screaming Thanksgiving or Halloween.  Although those might be two of my favorite holidays: comfort food and candy?
Where do I sign up?!

It makes me happy to go into work and look at it all day long.  If only I had the energy to make some of these projects for my home.
