Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam

This past Sunday was the first Sunday of 2013.  For many this was just another day, but for Gavin who is now 3 this Sunday meant that he would no longer be attending nursery with it's cupboards of toys, coloring and snacks.  Gavin is now a Sunbeam!!!  He has graduated from nursery and is now in Primary.  I was so worried that he would cry and throw a fit when we dropped his brother off to play in nursery and he didn't get to stay.  My worry was all for not, he gladly went with me to his new class and when I dropped him with his new teachers he only put up a fuss for a minute.       I am so proud of him and all the progress he has made.  I find that I often don't give him enough credit.  I still see him as my little guy who can't fend for himself and needs me for his every need.  I suppose I am still trying to hold on to his toddler hood when in fact he is now a little boy.  He is capable of communicating his needs, plays pretend and gets his own snacks out of the pantry.  If only we can get him to wear big boy underpants we might make some progress in potty training.   I left my class a couple minutes early so I could be there to get him just as soon as he was done.  I listened for a minute with my ear to the door.  I heard one of the boys exclaim "head butt!" then Gavin giggled and repeated with excitement "head butt!".  The teacher quickly reprimanded them and said there will be no head butts in class.  That's my boy!
